The company who had this gorgeous voice record the songs paid the singer a flat fee for the work. This company did not sign this artist, they merely used his voice to woo other artists. Then this company realized what they had passed on when this gorgeous voice was finally heard on a television reality show. So they hastily slapped these songs together, and sent out a press release stating they had this gorgeous singer's first album for sale.
They lied about the singer's involvement, and called him a liar (in a press release) when he said these were demos recorded as a session singer. They listed song names in the new press release that were known to have been co-written by this singer and stated in the press release that the artist would also profit from the sale of these songs. They've sent comment trolls out to Amazon and I-tunes to denigrate this artist's REAL debut recording in an attempt to drown out the fans' comments about the origins of this material.
Now this compilation of demo songs is for sale. There is not a single song written by the artist on this cd, not one. I don't see anything wrong with a company wanting to make money on material they've paid for, nothing wrong with that at all. I do see something wrong with lying about it in press releases, calling the artist a liar, and launching a troll campaign online against the artist.
I don't recommend that anyone actually listen to these songs, because they suck. The voice however, is GORGEOUS. But if you want these songs, I gots 'em. Hit me up.
Track 01 - Climb
Track 02 - December (aka Want)
Track 03 Fields
Track 04 Did You Need It
Track 05 More Than
Track 07 Castle Man
Track 08 Hourglass
Track 09 Light Falls Away
Track 06 is corrupt and I don't care enough to go find a good copy. The whole album is corrupt, to be honest, and full of FAIL.
Thanks for posting this. I know fans are not suppose to purchase it but I wanted to at least hear it. Love his Voice! He still sounds fabulous even though they are at best demos. Adam can even make a demo sound good! I have to say, I do like the stripped down sound with his voice being the focal point here.
ReplyDeleteNo such thing as a bad fan, you can buy it if you want to. His voice is to die for, even if the songwriting is not very good.
ReplyDeleteBut if you send me an email with your email address, I could help you out at n/c. See sidebar for my info.
I love Adam's voice and sorry, but will take it anyway I can.
ReplyDeleteI purchased (AKA spent money)a physical CD of Take One. That label said he will get some residuals. So I am going to have some trust in that.
This is WAY PRE Idol Adam songs! He is so talented... Love it All!
